But as per of fact we all know lots of people still smoke even after seeing these warnings. By the time they realize the detrimental effects of smoking, IT IS TOO LATE

S = Select a quit date.

  • Select a date within the next two weeks, so you have sufficient time to prepare without losing your motivation to quit.
  • If you mainly smoke at work, quit on the weekend, so you have some days to adapt to the change.

T = Tell your family, friends, and co-workers that you plan to quit.

  • Include your friends and family in on your plan to quit smoking and tell them you need their support and motivation to stop.
  • Look for a quit buddy who wants to quit smoking as well. You can encourage each other to get through the rough times.

A = Anticipate and prepare for the challenges you’ll face while quitting.

  • Most people who start smoking again do so within the first three months.
  • You can help yourself make it through by planning before for common challenges, such as nicotine withdrawal and cigarette cravings.

R = Remove cigarettes and other smoke products from your home, car, and work.

  • Throw away all of your cigarettes, lighters, ashtrays, matches and everything that reminds you about smoking.
  • Wash your clothes and freshen up anything that scents like nicotine.
  • Shampoo your car, wash your drapes and carpet, and steam your furniture.

T = Talk to your doctor regarding getting help to quit.

  • Your doctor may prescribe medicine to help with withdrawal symptoms.
  • If you can’t see any doctor, you can get many products over the counter at your local pharmacy, including nicotine patches, lozenges, and gum.
  • Nowadays e-cigarettes have become very popular. It is a battery-operated device that emits doses of vaporized nicotine, or non-nicotine solutions, for the user to inhale.
  • Just to leave the habit of smoking you can switch to e-cigarettes. This will give you the feel of smoking and not be as hazardous as smoking real tobacco.
  • E-cigarette claims to bypass many health risks of tobacco smoking and offers more healthy alternatives for other traditional forms of cigarettes and nicotine.
  • But eventually, it is advised to quit e-cigarettes too.

Since it reduces the tar and toxic gases found in cigarette smoke, smoking e-cigarettes (vaping) are almost surely less unhealthy than smoking regular cigarettes.
